My Practice

Reestablishing Connections Therapy (RCT) is a faith-based Christian practice focused on providing culturally sensitive support to individuals of African, Caribbean, African Canadian/American heritage and allies. RCT recognizes the systemic barriers faced by historically disenfranchised

populations and seeks to bridge the gap by providing accessible, anti-colonial counselling. My experiences enable me to offer effective virtual, individualized, therapeutic care. work from a Biblical, anti-racist, holistic, intersectional approach and provide a safe space to individuals, and couples.

Treatment Focus

With couples counselling, my focus is help rebuild fondness & admiration, intimacy, trust, and friendship .Together, we can work on healing and provide you with the tools to grow individually, as a couple to reestablish a stronger sense of self through person-entered counselling. As a Registered Social Worker providing marriage and family therapy, together we will collaboratively cultivate, and maintain mutual respect while feeling heard, seen, valued, understood, and supported by your partner/family members - rooted in Biblical principles.

Approach to Therapy

I use evidence-based practices, including but not limited to, Christian counselling, The Gottman Method for Couples Therapy, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Gottman and Strengths Based Therapy, Solution Focused, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. All to help you rediscover the resilience, strength, and courage within you. Everyone is unique, thus I do not use ‘one-size fits all’ approach. I want to work with you to help you achieve your goals, using a treatment plan that is just for you.

Values

I believe in a judgment-free approach, with a focus on honesty, openness, and transparency, where everyone is attended to equally, with no favoritism. I work from an intersectional, holistic, trauma-informed, using a person centered therapy approach. I see you as a whole person and I recognize all interlocking identities; faith, race, ethnicity, spirituality, socio-economic status, gender, and ability all make you who you are. I promise to see you as you are and meet you exactly where you are. Healing is a journey, and seeking help is indicative of your courage, so wherever you are on your path to a healthier you, I am here to help.
